Live By Request - 2004
This has to be the best ever live performance captured of Blondie. To celebrate the release of The Curse Of Blondie, the band's first new album in five years, America's iconic punk/pop band Blondie stopped in New York City to take fan requests on live television. Live By Request originally aired on May 7, 2004 from the John Jay Theater in Manhattan before a live studio audience.

BLONDIE
'LIVE BY REQUEST' DVD
RELEASE 13 SEPTEMBER 2004.
Warner Music Vision are pleased to announce the release of Blondie 'Live By Request' on 13 September.
'Live by Request' contains superb footage taken from the American TV special of the same name, plus four previously unseen songs, which were recorded at the same time but not broadcast. The performances are intersected with exclusive interview footage with band members, Debbie Harry and Chris Stein.
In 1974 Blondie was formed by art student guitarist Chris Stein and Playboy Bunny and platinum haired beauty Debbie Harry. Blondie defied categorisation because they produced the music they loved, scoring the first major reggae, rock/disco and hip hop hits, writing great rock hooks and brilliant ironic lyrics. They wore the hippest fashions and with Debbie's striking looks it wasn't long before she and the band were commanding the front covers of the biggest trendiest magazines.
Back in the mid-seventies they played the New York underground circuit collecting a large and loyal following. In 1977 they released their first of eight studio albums. It was the release of 'Parallel Lines' in 1979, which catapulted them into international stardom. The album contained four massive singles 'Heart of Glass', 'Sunday Girl', 'Dreaming' and 'Hanging On The Telephone'.
Almost three decades later, the band shot back into the limelight with their comeback studio album 'No Exit' which was released in 1999. It reached No. 3 in the UK album chart and features the No. 1 hit single 'Maria'. Their latest offering 'The Curse of Blondie' hit the stands last year and features 14 brand new tracks.
Their thirty year career has included a staggering six UK No. 1's and many huge international smash hits including 'Heart of Glass', 'Call me', 'Maria' and 'The Tide Is High' all of which are featured on this must have DVD for all Blondie fans.
Following the success of 'The Curse of Blondie' the band hit the road for a mammoth international tour, which visited Japan, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand and Europe this year. They arrived on UK shores back in June and played twenty-two sell out dates to more than 150,000 fans. They return in September for two final shows at the Shepherds Bush Empire, London and The Cliffs
Pavillions, Southend.
